Running 40:00 [3]

Road run - felt sluggish, have felt like this cold thing is creeping back; have been tired and had a sore throats for the last week. But warm and dry so nice to get out!

Stretching 15:00 [3]

Legs mostly; hamstrings felt extra tight.

Orienteering 1:17:00 [3]

O-Cup - Fantastic map and great conditions at Starky Hill. I started off alright, making a few small mistakes on my way to the first box. I decided to do the a-A dog bone so lost the pack right away and had a hard time reminding myself to move at a race pace. Misread the contour lines on the fifth control and lost a bit of time there, got into the box okay but so many elephant paths I stopped focusing and ended up at the wrong spot a few times, I would have thought that there was a magnet at 118 pulling me towards it. Once I forgot about them and refocused on my map things went better. Nice to be on a new technical map, lots of fun! Thank you Gators.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

Training up at Scenic Woods area, control picking. Have a hard time seeing maps in the dark, refocusing my eyes so had to make a few more stops than intended to see the many, closely placed controls.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]

Went down to Niagara with Emil to check out the areas and base maps for the Raid the Rib; forest is beautiful and lots of features we can have some fun with! Very excited to be part of the planning, a first for me! :) ( didn't hurt that it was also a beautiful 15 degree day!)

Orienteering 33:00 [3]

X-league - got off to a rough start as I pulled a DD, left my shoes at home. Was able to borrow a pair that were a few sizes to small but allowed me to run! So no time to preplan. Decided to run the route less travel to start but then got messed up at 10b - circled many trees with a group of ARXers. We could see our position in regards to the nearby powerline so knew we were where it should be but couldn't figure out which tree. Once we found it I played it safe and did not do the dogbones in order instead ran clockwise around the course picking up as many as I could. Only 2 blisters from the small shoes so a success!

Running 45:00 [3]

No takers on TNT so did a road run with Kris, trails were looking pretty slick.

Trail Running 1:05:09 [3]

Easy run in the valley with Kris. So pretty and not nearly as slick as we thought it would be.

Indoor on trainer, intervals. Nice to have energy again to do this.

Orienteering 32:00 [3]

ARX sprint training at Mac. Had a hard time seeing map in the dark, even with head lamp so slowed things down a bit. Started off pretty bad, map was upside down - oops! Got better from there (how could it not!). Made a few mistakes where I missed a impassible barrier or two but was able follow all of the out of bounds. Fun, I love being on sprint maps!

Core 1:05:00 [3]

Pilates class - first day in a week that I have felt like I have had any energy. Finally kicking this flu/cold thingy!!!

Orienteering 41:00 [3]

X-League. I missed the first one due to a stomach bug so wanted to at least do a bit of this one to get some points as I have had a nasty head cold all week. Started off well but by the time I was half way through the dogbone I started to feel all of the little energy I had get sucked right out of me. I trudged along for the rest of the race and just managed to clear the coarse!

Note - hindsight, I probably should not have run as the head cold moved to my chest the following day making me feel even worse instead of fulfilling my hopes of clearing it out!
