First x-league of the season. A few little blips, had a hard time reading my map. Went too high for number 5 and did some extra hills that were unnecessary but otherwise pretty good. Nice to see familiar faces along with a bunch of new ones out tonight!

ARX Xcel training - missed out on Next, looked like a great group out! Have to work out the driving so that we attend one or the other, same map and same training so will make a plan! But nice to see so many familiar and new faces out for the adult program! Training itself went pretty well, a few places I could not see the marker to ensure I was in the right spot so had to search around a bit to ensure I was. Once I was not, had ventured a bit to far to the left when taking my bearing.

O-cup Eliminator - Patrick said this would be one of the most difficult o-cup races ever, he was correct. Started off ok, but got flipped around in the first box and took a while to relocate. Once I did it was pretty smooth after that, came out of the forest a little bit too far east for the map change. Took it slow on the second map, saw some of the guys whipping through the forest leaving the box as I was just entering, don't know how they run so fast in there - I definitely need to work on my off trail running as speed was a big factor for me today! One small bobble in the box, followed the wrong depression but otherwise clean. Nice to get to the third map and see it was all trail junctions! Nice way to finish (and happy I finished)!

Overly competitive game with some of the staff at work when the boss was away. Did something to my back, but nothing a bit of stretching shouldn't cure. Felt like a kid again.

Final x league of the season at Lowville. Started off with a plan that I thought would be quite successful, keep the more difficult dogbones together and split the easier to maximize points. Went well to begin but lost a lot of time on the first black diamond (9) by not looking close enough at the map and having to climb up a rather slippery and densely forested hill. After losing a bunch of time there, needed to grab as many as possible so plan was out the window. Looking forward to continuing x-league in the spring season when it will no longer be dark! I really have a hard time refocusing on the map when it is dark out, hope this will help and allow for more flow!
