Orienteering race (Sydney Sprint Series) 15:19 [5] *** 3.49 km (4:23 / km) +80m 3:56 / km
spiked:10/14c shoes: Brooks Cascadia 2008

Sprint at Pennant Hills Park. Fairly easy nav course. Tried to go too fast for this though. Made quite a few stupid little errors not looking at the map enough. Lost time at no.1 not cutting across the courts and through the gap in the fence (10 secs), no.9 should have cut across the oval (10 secs), no.11 overrun (10 secs) and no.12 got confused coming out into the street - needed a compass to confirm (10 secs). Overall maybe 40 seconds. Finished 2nd in 15.19, Greg Barbour-14.56.

Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series) 44:31 [5] *** 10.02 km (4:27 / km) +86m 4:16 / km
spiked:28/30c shoes: Brooks Trance 10

Started well along the north through to no.11 then a small looping in the streets collecting no.8, 16 and 21. After that was the fun bit in the complex housing estate. It was like a technical sprint race weaving between the buildings and paths. Got a little stuck on the last control in this section exiting 29 when the mapped rockface turned out to be huge and took a while to scramble over. The last 15 minnutes was on the streets with some annoying out and backs to make up time. Just near the finish I stupidly overran no.6 on a road intersection and lost 45 seconds. Still managed to get all controls in 44.31. Richard Green-42.19, Glenn Horrocks-43.47, Mark Schaefer-590, Andrew Brown/Michael Burton-580.
