Note
(rest day)

Started a run but still had the same heavy legged feeling I've had since the half. Didn't see the point continuing with bigger plans tomorrow

Trail Running 1:03:15 [2] 8.17 mi (7:45 / mi) +9m 7:43 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus #4

Dropped Kally off in Sale so decided to run from there and explore more of the carrington trails. Feeling pretty knackered today. Really tired from 20 mins. Got a bit lost after that which took my mind off things and felt ok for the last little bit

Easy round Hough end with a stop halfway for some stretching. Still quite sore and a bit more aware of the calf today. Running in general just feeling a bit more laboured than I would like. Can't remember the last time I was so wrecked by a race

Some laps of Alexandra park on the grass with Fraser to test things out. Calf quickly feeling quite good but various other bits starting to feel sore once I got going. Happy to be back running though.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Ticking the injury box since calf pain is the only reason I'm not running today. Suspect I'll get over it quickly though.

Better walking round today and can manage calf raises (although sore calf feels like it couldn't manage very many of them). Any sort of impact beyond walking is a bit more sore and don't really want to run on it. Hoping another day or two will do the trick. Not a bad time for a wee break anyway.

Had a look at the race splits from Sunday and was surprised at just how consistent it was. Probably the best I've ever paced any road race.

Laps of 19:01, 19:01, 18:58, 14:56 (to finish not a full lap)

Note
(rest day)

Feeling fairly destroyed after the race yesterday. My calf tightened up in the last few miles and was getting quite sore. Reduced to a hobble afterwards and couldn't do a run to cool down. Same happened in my last half marathon where I assumed it was because of the flats but the fact its happened in bouncy Nikes makes me wonder that my legs just aren't up to long road racing.

Major case of DOMS today along with sore calf. Thinking I'll need a very easy few days to recover.
