Orienteering 55:00 [3] 3.5 mi (15:43 / mi)
shoes: Innov-8 X-talon 212

O-tervals with Izzy and Evalin and Pavlina. This was really fun and really successful for me. A lot of the time I feel like going fast while orienteering is where I'm lacking, but after getting into the terrain the day before, this went super well!

9 AM

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: Innov-8 X-talon 212

Control pick, focusing on flow. This was OK. I skipped a control in an overgrown area but was fine with everything else.

Orienteering 45:00 [3] 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Innov-8 X-talon 212

Long legs exercise -- mostly just running on trails. My focus was gone though because in a somewhat overgrown area I got all turned around and was wandering for quite some time.
12 PM

Orienteering 40:00 [3] 3.2 km (12:30 / km)
shoes: Innov-8 X-talon 212

Supposed to be speed change, but Izzy and Evalin and I went together at one speed.... I also made a bad mistake early on. Clearly I wasn't paying enough attention to my map. It was a reminder that I need to practice having other people around me more -- they're distracting to me and it would force me to focus harder.

Running 29:00 [2] 3.24 mi (8:57 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Feaster Five in Andover, MA. Nearly 10,000 people did this so it was super crowded the whole time but still a lot of fun

10 AM

Running 40:11 [3] 4.98 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Running with Dylan and Devin. On the way back I was really starting to feel it. My calves were really tight and my stomach didn't feel great because I had some cereal right before heading out.

Strength 6:00 [3]

6 min core

Running 42:53 [3] 5.53 mi (7:45 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

To forest hills and back again! I brought a friend along and he was pushing the pace especially at the beginning. So it was tough but good.
2 PM

Strength 1:00:00 [3]

Calf raises, bicep curls, tricep extensions, tricep pull downs, dumbbell flys, benching, and core. Basically a bunch of upper body stuff since I haven't been to the gym for a while.
This was the first time I've benched since coming to Boston, and I realized that I lost a lot of strength in my arms. 3 sets of 5x 65lbs was very challenging for me. I'll work my way back up over time though.
6 PM

Soccer 45:00 [3]

Intramural game that the other team didn't show for, so we scrimmaged ourselves. Unfortunately I came out of it with a tweaked ankle. It's not swollen so I'm not too concerned. I think it'll be fine after a day or two of rest.

Friday Nov 18, 2016 #

Other (Football) 1:00:00 [2]

Passing and then a game of 2 vs 2 at the field nearby

Thursday Nov 17, 2016 #

Other (Basketball) 1:00:00 [3]

Pickup game since the intramural game was forfeited by the other team. I passed to the other team by mistake multiple times but my teammates were nice and still passed to me despite my lack of skill

Tuesday Nov 15, 2016 #

10 AM

Running 45:34 [3] 5.62 mi (8:06 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Felt slow and sluggish while running, but I was going at a decent pace so I'm not sure what's up

Strength 6:00 [3]

6 min core after the run

Sunday Nov 13, 2016 #

Hiking 3:00:00 [2] 9.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Hiking at Middlesex Fells. I could see this being a really nice run, but for a hike it's pretty low key and not as rugged as I'm used to back home.

7 AM

Running 40:45 [3] 4.99 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Up early for real running :) I went along Southwest Corridor Park. I'm not sure how far the park actually goes since I turned back after 2.5 miles, but I think I could go a ways along this if I wanted to.

Strength 5:00 [3]

5min planks

Running 34:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:30 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Treadmilling

Strength 10:00 [3]

Just a lil bit of free weights after my run

Wednesday Nov 9, 2016 #

Other (Basketball) 30:00 [3]

Couldn't make it to CSU training :( big lab report due at midnight and a chem exam tomorrow. So I settled for a little bit of basketball later after making a good sized dent in my lab.

Monday Nov 7, 2016 #

7 PM

Running 43:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:36 / mi)

Treadmill running. The problem with treadmills is that even if you're going faster and harder than the person next to you, they're always right there and you never pass them.

Sunday Nov 6, 2016 #

Soccer 1:20:00 [3]

Last soccer game! 2-2 tie vs Boston College. It was a good match up

Saturday Nov 5, 2016 #

Running 10:40 [4]
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

50 flight stair climb race

Thursday Nov 3, 2016 #

Soccer 1:30:00 [3]

Practice: scrimmaging, handball, and world cup

Wednesday Nov 2, 2016 #

Running 24:00 [3]
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

The treadmill kicked me off after 24 minutes.... I was planning on running for longer than that but I decided to just do some strength afterwards instead. Next time I'll have to actually figure out the treadmill though

Strength 20:00 [3]

Light core and free weights

Tuesday Nov 1, 2016 #

Strength 45:00 [3]

5 min planks, 6 min core
3 sets 10x15lbs bicep curls
3 sets 30x50lbs calf raises
3 sets 10x15lbs tricep pull downs
pyramid core (up to 25 pushups), extra random core for a bit waiting for two others to finish up
