2nd day of the bendigo 2day. Mass start two loop course. most of the pack seemed to have a different first control to me and i was running alone for the first few controls. but i saw a pack in front of me at about number 5 i was feeling strong so i pushed through them, came through in front after the first loop but troy was just behind me. we ran together for the first few controls then we had some different split so we lost each other. on the first long leg i took the track to the left. got to number 5 at the same time as troy. hanny also appeared to. they went along the saddles to number 6 and i kind of went a bit straighter which was a bit stupid as there was more climb, brian popped up here too, i think he may have been there all along but i just hadnt noticed. on the second long leg to 7 we all went to the left, hanny went up the gully and troy and i went up the spur to the track, when we got to the track hanny put in a huge effort and steamed ahead of us, i hung on for dear life and got to 7 with her, i put in a surge to 8 to try and get away from them but i cocked it up and missed the control. so we were all together running in a pack for the last kilometre, good fun, lead changed a fair bit, we all missed number 14 and hanny looked as though she might have us, but from 15 to 16 troy and i removed our testicles from our pockets and put in a good finish for our gender. i couldnt get to troy in the finish chute and he took the win.
bloody good race though and i was pretty happy.
Seemed to be some new bogans vs metrosexuals vs foreigners southern cross challenge going on today. really good idea.
cant work out how the scoring works though, but it must work as the bogans seem to have cemented their rightful place at the top of the table
