Running 1:00:00 [3]

2 pool running Monnas with the current king fiend of pool of pool running JD. In my absence the guy has well and truly put my previous pool running efforts to shame so full credit to him. But Apparently he no longer feels comfortable going out in public unless he is wearing his water aerobics belt.

orienteering race 1:41:00 [3]

Long
calf was pretty tender at the start but I tried to put it and yesterdays run behind me as today was the race I had really been aiming for and looking forward to. And it delivered.
Great terrain, course and Weather, Nice day out. Plan was to be conservative and avoid taking any risks with route choice pr coming into controls. Started out pretty messy, too far left on 2. Saw andy hill and matt macquire in here, this was the last time i saw anyone. overshot 5 to the clearing below blowing 1.5mins. But didn't really lose anymore from hear until my second butterfly, where I lost about a minute in the circle on my 19 (first one in the big butterfly). Worst mistake was the spectator control (second last one) stopped orieteering and juat ran and consequently drifted right of the line and totally lost contact. Stopped dead for about half a minute to relocated realising I might blow the whole race, worked it out but I was a long way off the line and lost 1.5-2mins on that. Overall pretty happy for the moat part was orienteering quite well, losing only a few minutes on that course was pretty good going I thought

Running warm up/down 1:30:00 [3]

Heaps of slow jogging before the sprint and in between races to try and keep the calf under control. Seemed to work ok. Too sore for a cool down after the middle but otherwise held up alright

Sprint.
Knew going into it I wouldn't have the leg speed in me to do any good on a campus sprint with the lack of run in I've been doing lately. But got my confidence up on the way to the start when we ran through a km of forest to get to the start. Thought their might be some more forest than i was expecting, giving me half a chance.
Did alright overall, lost a bit of time on the control after the map change and had a few hesitations but no more than 30 seca all up. Just wasn't fast enough.

Middle.
Shocking day out. From the start until number 12 seemed to blow every second control by 30secs to 1min. Just couldn't really seem to get confident with the map and in the green. Also felt like a lot of the controls were too hidden (tucked right up against rocks). Worst mistake was 11, lost about 2 mins in the circle. Just couldn't find the thing. From 13 onwards I was ok. But overall pretty unhappy with this one

Out to kooyoora to dust of my Australian o skills. Glad I did because I was fuckin terrible for the first few longer legs I set myself. Got a good flow going by the end of the session so definately worth doing this. now just rest up for the weekend
