orienteering race (blodslitet) 1:19:59 [4] *** 12.0 km (6:40 / km) +415m 5:41 / km
spiked:23/26c

12k blodslitet race on a steep map near daylesford. a very chilly 7 degrees. opted out of doing the 18k because im not an idiot.
Steep area, i felt quite strong and fit, lost five minutes to a control that was in the wrong spot in a dodgy area of the map(dwanye bagare would have had a field day). so i should have run 75mins. i think i might beat the odds on favourite muzza scown and win the jwoc classic. good training for lithuania as a lot of the major features were vegetation boundaries.
pensioner decided to do the 18k and he was out for nearly 3 hrs(just quitely i think the alzheimers is starting to get him).
i just had a look at lithuania on google earth and one of the embargoed jwoc areas, just south of druskinninkai (the relay map i think), is really high resolution, you can see individual trees and vegetation boundaries

Running hills (hills session) 20:00 [4]

Was planning to go to the bendigo event at Kangaroo Gully but i started uni assignment that had been plaguing me all week and really got onto a role with it so i gave the event a miss and went hill running later in the arvo.
Had a good 20 min hills session. felt strong as an ox and my shin was only a slight niggle but i will still keep an eye on it. i think smithy's crows have migrated north for the winter. they were everywhere

Running (Warm up/Cool down) 25:00 [2]

easy jog

Note
(rest day)

just one of those days when you wake up start doing stuff and before you know it its dark and your tired and you realise you have really achieved nothing.

meant to be a recovery ride but probably went a bit too hard to warrant that description

Running (Hard Interval Session) 25:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano

7x700 hard with 100m recoveries
still cant find an athletics track near my place, Blair? so i went to a local footy oval that was approxiamately the right size, i think it was a bit bigger if anything, and ran my 700m sections as 1 and 3/4 laps, made sure it took me at least 2.30 running hard so i knew it would be at least 700m(to split hairs i think it was longer).
was completely stuffed after this session, my shin only felt a little bit tight afterwards.

Running (Warm up/Cool down) 1:05:00 [2]

extra wram up/cool down required today as the session was pretty hard

Running (long run) 1:27:00 [3]

atttempted long run. felt absolutely shithouse due to the drugs the dentist gave me and also kept having to duck off into the bushes to take a shit as the drugs have been playing up with my guts(no i didnt include this in my time). on a positive note my shin was feeling good.
