Running intervals (5 x 1km) 16:30 [4] 5.0 km (3:18 / km)
ahr:175 max:183 shoes: Brooks Adrenelin

did my intervals a bit differently today. roch suggested that instead of aiming for the world 1000m record on each interval (and ending feeling like i was going to shit myself) i should be aiming at keeping my heart rate about 5bpm higher than what my race pace is. so aimed to keep my heart rate between 175 and 180 and didnt worry so much about speed. this was really good i felt better afterward and didnt have as much recovery in between, did 5 x 1km with 2 min recoveries, 2 uphill 3 flat, times were a bit slower than normal, but hell, who can run 2.55km while their doing a classic at kooyora, maybe skippy the bush kangaroo but not me. times were from 3.05 - 3.15 for flat km and 3.20 - 3.28 uphill km

orienteering race (kooyora) 45:00 [4] ***** 7.0 km (6:26 / km) +150m 5:48 / km

tried to slow it down a bit from yesterday and think more about what i was doing, planning routes and picking attackpoints. managed to do this well for most of the course, was navigating pretty poorly from 4 through to 9 lost a fair bit of time, but pulled my head in to try and run off on acejase and was pretty happy with how i ran the rest of the course.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]
