orienteering race 1:54:00 [4] 17.2 km (6:38 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

pretty average run, slost a minute or two at number one and then another two minutes at number 3.
generally i find it really hard to get back into a race when you lose time early, especially on a classic. today was no execption, toph caught me a 3, it suprised me that he hadnt caught me earlier. i got angry and ran hard for the next 2 or 3 controls and dropped him, but after that i just couldnt push myself, i was a softcock on the hills and the long legs and was suprised i wasnt further down the list,

pretty dejected about my orienteering after this weekend, a bit fed up with it, think ill take a break for a few weeks and just do cross country

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

one of my rules for classics is to limit my warm up to a jog to the start. however the start was about 50m from the carpark to the start so i forced myself to do a bit of a jog

orienteering race 46:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

middle distance race, started pretty slow as i thought it would be easy to lose time in that thick green shit... it was.
lost concentration and ran to 4 before 3, didnt make it all the way but still lost about a minute, was running ok after that until i came across an large unmapped clearing on the way to 9, thought i was at a marked clearing that was about 200m away on the map, relocated accordingly and subsequently lost about 7 mins and my patience... was absolutely furious and just plodded around the rest of the course

orienteering race 18:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks T4 racers

spwint at bruce CIT, started out ok, ran the first map pretty well, lost a bit of time in the forest but apart from that it was ok... julian caught me at the map change so i pretty much put my map in back pocket and tried to hang on, i was able to hang on but on the way to one of the controls i could see jules head in the wrong direction. i briefly entertained the thought of independant navigation but quickly dismissed it. jules made a pretty big error on the fourth last control and i followed him like a lemming, lost about 30secs, serves me right i suppose...
at the third last control didnt realise it was in the wrong spot, one carpark to high, and i counted the carparks down to the second last control stopped when i thought i crossed the right number of carparks, lost about 40secs standing there like a stunned mullet trying to work out what the fuck was going on... didnt matter in the end because it turned out my sport ident hadnt recorded control 7, i wasnt to worried about that
