12 PM

Yowsa!! (Shoveling) 1:15:00 [4]

Heaving lifting. Dug out my sister's car and both of ours while B napped with Z. Defying traditional heteronormative gender roles, one snowstorm at a time.
2 PM

Trekking 25:00 [2] 1.3 mi (19:14 / mi) +63ft 18:23 / mi

Through the unplowed streets with B and Z to a friend's house for the Patriots game -- their Fios trumps our antenna.
7 PM

Trekking 22:00 [2] 1.2 mi (18:20 / mi) +37ft 17:49 / mi

Home from the game with a disillusioned husband. Roads still unplowed. City's doing a worse job than usual.

Yowsa!! (Shoveling) 1:00:00 [2]

Shoveling, followed by postholing in the woods with the dogs, with 40+ pounds of baby, backpack, and snow gear alternately in my arms and on my back.
10 AM

Snowshoe! 1:40:00 [3] 4.25 mi (23:32 / mi) +300ft 22:03 / mi
shoes: Salomon 3D Pro #2 - Green/Purp

Oh, hello winter. About 15 inches have actually fallen so far, but the drifts are crazy. Some are up to my thighs, in other areas we can still see the grass. Round trip to Roxborough and back with Dan and B -- destination: Dalessandro's Steaks to meet another friend for a quick lunch (they were open but so dead that they even made me a special veggie grinder!). Took a mix of roads, trail, and bushwhacking. Snow was soft and deep so lots to break.
4 PM

Yowsa!! (Shoveling) 25:00 [2]

Second pass. Snow is a lot heavier now. Started to work on the cars but didn't seem worth doing much until they plow our street. More shoveling in our future.

Road Run (Commuting) 25:00 [3] 2.75 mi (9:05 / mi) +61ft 8:54 / mi
shoes: Merrell Glide

Calm before the storm.

Was intending to trek home from Chestnut Hill but when I got outside I felt like running (and was also cutting it close to get home for a phone meeting). Felt a little silly running in jeans and a puffy jacket, with my computer and work stuff on my back.
3 PM

Road Run 1:13:28 [3] 8.25 mi (8:54 / mi) +339ft 8:34 / mi
shoes: Merrell Glide

To GA - surface roads for the first 5 miles, then onto the Green Ribbon Trail. I've never gotten onto the trail at that point, and there was a lot more going on than I expected. Had to pull out my phone and look at the map a few times. I kind of loved this run - finding my solo-outside-running groove.

Bike - Roads (Trainer) 45:00 [3] 13.8 mi (18.4 mph)

Steady spin, not much power. First day of the semester is always exhausting.

Trekking (Commuting) 1:19:00 [2] 5.9 mi (13:23 / mi) +154ft 13:04 / mi
shoes: Merrell Glide

Chestnut Hill to GA with a stop along the way to pick up oreos for a class exercise tomorrow. 10-15 pounds in pack, 11 degree real-feel temp. Winter has finally come to Philly.
