training at race elements. was totally stuffed so took it easy on most things. was good to do something different after the last week.

much needed trip to the physio afterwards.

Orienteering race 31:46 [4] 5.0 km (6:21 / km)

aus relays. went off third, in a comfortable gap between the jo/kathryn group and whoever else. figured I was never going to catch 4mins on them, so just cruised around. passed the tassie runner at 5, and came in 4th.

aus long distance. aiming just to get around ok without it turning into an epic. went ok at the start, but made some silly mistakes in the last 3rd. still, reasonably happy with my run considering. 6th. (and we beat the kiwis!)

Orienteering race 19:40 [5] 3.3 km (5:58 / km)

aus sprint champs. really enjoyed the race, despite being totally unprepared physically. loved the second part of the course in the buildings etc. heaps of fun. was pleased with my run - despite being slow, I didn't make any mistakes, so did ok in the end. 6th I think?

Orienteering race 47:02 [5] 6.5 km (7:14 / km)

nol after schools champs. pretty tired and hot after standing round all morning. started ok, and was having a really good race, but the heat was getting to me in the last part of the course. made a really dumb mistake cos my brain was too cooked to think straight - parallel error coming out of 10 which took me to 12 instead of 11. oh well.

qld long distance. total shocker - mainly the first 2 controls - stuffed both up massively. decided to keep going (and try and learn how to orienteer again), but then hit the wall in the last part cos I was out for so long.

Orienteering race 31:16 [5] 4.1 km (7:38 / km)

aus middle champs. reasonably clean run- lost contact for a bit on the long leg and ended up too low on the hill at the end, but other than that it was a pretty clean run. caught up to Lene in the string of controls in the green and ran with her for the rest. pleased with second, but hanny smashed me. and I think most of the rest of the field underestimated the difficulty of the erosion stuff, and won't next time.

slow run. don't really like running in the morning, and don't think that extra glass of wine last night helped. still - headache is gone now.
