Wanted something a little flatter than last week so a quick look at past runs and decided Hillman was just about the flattest options around here. This was the first time we linked the N and S sections to get a run longer than 12 miles using a new to us trail. Planned for 16. The first ten or so fet really good, then legs got tired but was able to plod along pretty well. Still a lot faster than last weekend! Had planned for 16 but neither of us were paying close attention and we missed a turn near the end that resulted in an extra mile. Sunny and 40s, the wind was chilly but overall pretty nice.
Tried out “hoppy trails” Gu. I didn’t really expect to like it, and I didn’t. It didn’t really taste like beer tho, more like green tea. Also, pretzel sticks don’t pack nearly as well as rods.
