Managed to fit in a quick fire tower mountain, Lyon mountain, during our extremely quick trip to northern NY. This is the second tallest ADK fire tower at 3830 ft, and pretty close to high peak status despite the fact that it’s nowhere near the standard high peak region. We were able to run up about the first 2 miles but it got too steep and rocky for the last mile. Running down went well. Super humid, and lots of mosquitos which was motivation to move quickly at the start. Really fun hike.
