No clear errors, but many hesitations to read this complex map.

Walking (Squaw Valley & Tahoe City) 1:00:00 [3]

A true rest day, Toured the Squaw Valley village and then walked around Tahoe City. Hopefully that's the recipe for a sharp mind and tireless body at the next 2 days of ski-o races.

Ski Orienteering race (Royal Gorge) 1:28:00 [5] 18.0 km (4:53 / km)
spiked:9/10c shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

Got my biggest mistake out of the way on the first control. Navigation went smooth after that. Skis slowed down dramatically about a third of the way through the course.

Skate Skiing warm up/down (Northstar XC) 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

1.5K to start and back plus some additional skiing to review navigation error

Ski Orienteering race (Northstar XC) 1:28:00 [4] *** 18.0 km (4:53 / km)
spiked:11/12c shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

Broke a pole soon after leaving 2nd control. It was mildly usable until going to 4th control, then broke in half. The broken control broke my concentration, which cost me a 20 minute error going to 5. The broken pole threw off my concentration and I missed one trail intersection onthe way to 5 and almost ended up at 8, 7 and then 6. Ugh. Navigation went smooth after the one catastrophic error.

Picked up a few pine branches along the way to help with the climbing and the 500 meter downhill bushwhack. Kept the last one through to the end.

Ski Orienteering race (Tahoe Donner XC) 1:02:00 [5] *** 15.0 km (4:08 / km)
spiked:12/12c shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

Not sure of the exact time right now.

Solid navigation, but there were some better route choices I didn't see on the course. The course seemed more like a fitness test than an orienteering test, but there were a variety of route that others chose on ssome of the legs.

Skate Skiing (Royal Gorge) 1:30:00 [3] 15.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

Chased Raffael around Royal Gorge for a while, then he went off and skied another loop without me while I went back to the cabin and cooked dinner.

Ski Orienteering race (Bear Valley ski-o day 2) 1:03:00 [4] *** 15.0 km (4:12 / km)
spiked:10/12c shoes: Salomon Racing Skate 9

Day 2 at Bear Valley. Several navigation errors cost a few minutes. Legs and lungs still in bad shape. I need to find another gear for Tuesday.

Skied around for 30 minutes trying to stay warm, then finally got to pick up flags.
