shoes: X-Talon 212

Run in the ice / snow with C at Thrunton Woods near Alnwick.
Freezing and a right bad 2km slog up the road to finish... More like a toboggan run than a road. So much ice on the downhills!

Great to be back home and illness free (nearly).

Crisp, yet quite icy still!!

RUNNING 26:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:12 / km) +70m 4:52 / km
(injured) shoes: New Asics 1140

Felt a lot better today and managed to have a pain free run with only one twinge. Decided to run on the balls of my feet and had no issues - seems like the heel cushioning isn't that good for my running style!

Sunday Dec 6, 2009 #

ORIENTEERING race (Ramsley Moor O) 1:00:00 [3] *** 6.5 km (9:14 / km) +110m 8:31 / km
(injured) shoes: X-Talon 212

Ran round a Green with Caralyn and helped her out. Excellent new area with lots of runability and great straightlining ability - only 2 paths on the map - awesome and she did very well only 1 control was iffy.

RUNNING 1:20:00 [2] 10.0 km (8:00 / km) +200m 7:16 / km
(injured) shoes: X-Talon 212

Felt a lot better for the first bit of the run - managed 50mins without much pain, but then it became very uncomfortable and i had to walk back from Longshaw to Burbage Bridge...

Seems like its so much better with low profile shoes and on softer ground with less impact on muscles - and a lot better if i don't stop!

RUNNING 30:00 [2] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)
(injured) shoes: New Asics 1140

Ran to see how long i could last without pain - managed 15mins. Then decided to try different shoes and keep running. Still hurts though...

RUNNING 20:00 [1] 2.0 km (10:00 / km) +40m 9:05 / km
(injured)

Really quite frustrated that I can't muster a run. Got about 500m in and couldn't face running any further so walked back.
Not my foot that hurts now but a burning sensation around the back of my heel and lower calf - no pain underneath though...
Any suggestions??
