Regional race in Frieborg region of Switzerland. Nice runnable terrain, but plenty of hills when I was already tired from the camp. Finished 5th, 9 mins behind, so quite happy. Not too many problems. Got all the route choices right.

Stated to speed up a bit in the terrain. Had a good training session. Not too many mistakes and running better at high speed. Took the longer training course and cut off many corners. Stopped to discuss with Jeremy on a few occassions.

Lower altitude map (1100m), so no snow here, or it had already melted.

Most intimidating map I've ever seen, and so it proved. Fine to start with, then got lost going back to #6 on loop 1. Lots of safety finding my way around loop #2. Incredible terrain. Got incredibly lost going to #12. Lost about 20-30 mins??? No real detail to work on. Even working in tandem with Jeremy didn't work. Got better thereafter, but a really WOW area. Somehow it was actually very enjoyable, definitely memorable.

Ran what we should have run on the snow day. Still a few patches left on he ground, mainly higher up. Controls had just been collected though, so me and Jeremy did intervals from control to control, taking turns to lead and then confirming placement.

Started near 39, then 39-38-37-36-35-34-33-51-32-21-54-54-55.

Getting the hang of it.

Note

Rain turned to snow. Turned up at the Creux qui Sonne car park (1300m) expecting to run only to find about 15cm on snow on the ground. The terrain is dangerous enough without snow, so I declined the run. Jeremy went for a short 30 mins experience.

Did the shorter of 2 training courses, then cut some controls out as well. Started on track below #1, then 1-2-3-4-9-8-7-6-5-10-11 and back to lower car park. Took it easy and conferred a lot with Jeremy. Starting to get a hang of things... slowly. Very cold rain which left me without fingers...

Slow training exercise. Most of the controls were same as yesterday (lazy organisers). Still got lost again. Struggled most on #5, which I almost aced yesterday.
