(rest day)

Keeping a rest because of my rib. I also hit my finger between the car door today and I've been struggling with that all afternoon. My thumb is turning blue soon...
Update: went to see the doc at midnight as it got so bad, he made a hole on my thumb's nail to get the pressure out from under it.

On the 5th leg of Jukola, I fell on my left side pretty early in the race. Didn't feel bad right then and not even after the race. But on Sunday evening/Monday morning my left ribs started hurting and it got worse by the day. So today I decided to go see the doc. X-ray revealed nothing so all good but taking it easy for a few days as the doc said so and it hurts.

Rerun of the world cup middle to learn from my mistakes. Looked at my gps compared to the top 10 before going into the forest to see how I could do things differently. I noticed that even on the legs I thought I did well, I lost a lot of time not going exactly straight. So my focus was to keep a very straight line where ever possible. It turned out to be harder than I thought... For example on legs 2 and 9( http://www.tulospalvelu.fi/gps/2019wcupmiddleM/ ) going straight over hill tops and cliffs seemed very brutal but apparently thats why Lundanes and Bergman are always so fast... Made the same mistake as in the race to 11, just didn't understand that area with a lot of fallen trees... Still, I think I learnt a lot from my technical ability to follow a bearing and also route choice planning in a terrain like these. Getting things ready for WOC...
