Easy pre-breakfast hour round shortonhall with Max. Legs feel completely back to normal so ready to crack on with normal training now. Hip/groin area very tight for the whole run and been tight all of last week but not really got any worse so will carry on for now.

Another rest day. Might take tomorrow off aswell. Body actually feels alright just very tired as only got a couple of hours of poor quality sleep last night.

Pacing Ali and Sasha for their Munro 24hr record attempt with Tom and Max.

With them for about 3 hours but included a 90min run out and back so ended up being quite a big boy. Had a rather heavy bag on but managed to adapt quite nicely. The lads were in good spirits throughout and moving incredibly well. We also felt decent all the way to the end of our leg. However the last hour back home got pretty tough.

Unfortunately Ali injured his hamstring quite badly at around 110km so he had to drop. Absolutely gutted for him as I’m sure he would have finished otherwise. Nevertheless I’m sure he’ll come back stronger and ready to tackle another mammoth challenge. Sasha crushed it breaking the record with nearly an hour to spare! Absolutely inspirational performances from both lads! Also can’t forget Gregor pulling a huge 12 hour support shift and running 80km himself, a performance that should not be overlooked. Fantastic weekend, great work from both boys and all the support teams.

5mile grass tempo round HH in the rain. Wearing flats but not too slippy. Started with Max planning to take this chill at 3:30s, but went through the first km in 3:18 and suddenly all that went out the window. Pressed on, feeling hard but comfortable. Had a coffee before which is a rarity for me so that may have had an impact. Split 15:50 for the last 5km, spicy.

Pre-brekkie hour round the seat with Max and Tom. Bit lumpy but no major climbs. Feeling pretty average but not too sluggish.
