Running 1:10:00 [2]

Felt a bit tired, so took it pretty easy for the first half. Ran on the south side of the river to Studley Park boathouse, and then returned along Merri Creek.

Running 54:00 [3]

Albert Park Lake via the tan track.
Quite a solid pace today for what was supposed to be an easier run.
Why do you always get a headwind in every direction when you run around Albert Park?

Orienteering tempo (Street O) 40:30 [4] *
spiked:18/18c

Street O at Viewbank. My first one for this summer series.
A complex course, and I'm still not sure if I went the optimal way to collect 18 out of 20 controls. Felt like I was moving ok and got up the hills well. I was a bit disappointed that there were no packs to run with as I was solo for the entire race.
Dion had a shocker and was 9 minutes behind. Tony Bird seems to be in reasonable shape this season.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [1]

Running 55:00 [3]

Glorious day in Melbourne at lunchtime.
2 laps of the tan in reverse. Pace increased to around 16mins on the second lap after an easier 17 min first lap.

Running intervals 28:00 [4]

5x1000m at tan track - up and down from the finish to Government House Drive. 5m30s turnarounds.
3:37 easing into the first
3.06 down
3.30 up
3.09 down
3.28 up

I'm not 100% sure, but the 3m06s may be close to my best ever timed 1000m split. One day it would be nice to get under 3mins.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Running 55:00 [2]

MFR training.
First evening run in daylight for over 6 months. Yippee! Ran to Darebin Parklands with Nicola, Dion and Tash. Blair joined us for dinner and is recovering from his elbow operation.
Rice and vegetable mush for dinner at Nicola's, but the rice was a bit crunchy.

Running 1:10:00 [2]

Easy run to Bourke Rd bridge, and then increased the tempo running back on the single tracks on the other side of the river.
