Running 56:00 [2]

Fawkner Park recovery run. My legs felt pretty tired for the duration, but I felt better at the end than the start.
It was a glorious day outside in Melbourne this afternoon. It's too nice to go back to the office.

Running intervals 50:00 [4]

6x500m intervals, 90 sec recoveries.
1. 39, 1.31, 1.31, 1.31, 1.30, 1.29
Then a jog up to the children's garden to see Anne and the kids at playgroup. I was thinking of offering to stay there for the afternoon and send Anne back to work!

Orienteering tempo (Street O) 32:05 [4] * 8.75 km (3:40 / km) +300m 3:08 / km

Street O at Bulleen.
Probably my fastest street o of the season, because I had to work for the win.
I was kind of looking for an easier run after a lunch time interval session, but there was a lot of good quality runners tonight. David Kipp was moving well, and Tony Bird was in form and trying hard. David and I headed off on the same route at sub 4m/km pace right from the start. We then met Birdman at the third, and the pace increased. I ran on to the back of Birdman and sat on him for a few controls while and we dropped David.
I then planned a careful route avoiding most of the big climbs in Bulleen, and deviated on a different course from the Birdman.
As the win was no certainty, I had to push hard for the rest of the course. I won by 1 minute to David, and about 2 minutes to Birdman. I'm still not sure if my route was significantly better, or if I was just able to hold the pace better through to the end.

Running hills 1:00:00 [3]

Moderate intensity run with a few surges on the hills. 4 Airlie St hills and 2 killer loops. I felt good and went to the front with 2 others on the hills and put in quite a gap. We then had to wait for the pack to catch up again after the hills.

Running intervals 56:00 [4]

3 x 2000m intervals at approx 5km race pace. 2min recoveries.
7:04 (uphill)
6:38 (downhill)
7:01 (undulating)
It was quite hard work! I was about 6th in the pack for the first, but finished 4th and 4th as a few others at my speed tired.

Running hills 1:04:00 [3]

Monday night run at Liggo's to celebrate his 40th.
I was the only under 35 at training tonight, but the quality was good. With Warren getting keen again, and Easter fast approaching, the speed was on tonight. Many hills and a fast pace made it a good quality session tonight.

Running hills 1:30:00 [3]

A hilly run around Kew up and down every hill that I could find.
I looked for Liggo kayaking on the Yarra, but I couldn't see him. He's either improved his skills and had taken off upstream, or had sunk to the bottom of the river.
I then spent a few hours at the pool with the kids, where the cool water helped my legs recover.
