Running intervals 22:00 [4]

8 x 500m at the tan, 3 min turnarounds.
Felt ordinary on the warm up, but I had some quite good speed today. Hard work, but good for me.

Running hills 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom Air Elite 07 #6

Hilly run around Kew with Nicola, Dion and Torgeir.
Nicola said that she wanted some hills, but I'm not sure if the others were impressed.

Running tempo 18:00 [4]
(injured)

Airlie Street 10 hills at tempo pace.
Tough session. Quite a steep hill x 10, with no recoveries at all - just continuously fast up and down. I felt ok for the first 7, but the last 3 were hard. I think I'm still recovering from the 7 wasp stings from Sunday.
They are still very irritating, and I'm not quite feeling 100% yet.

Running warm up/down 50:00 [3]

an extended warm down after the hilly tempo.

Running 49:00 [2]
(injured)

Monday night MFR run from Dion's, with Blair, Torgeir, Kirsten, Jasmine, Nicola, Luise, Marcus, Suse and Keith.
I felt very sluggish for the first 30 minutes, but got progressively better after that.

Orienteering long 1:37:00 [4] ***
spiked:28/30c (injured) shoes: VJ Sarva #4

3hr Maxi Score event at Sailor's Diggings.
From the beginning it was always going to be possible to get them all. I'd planned a loop, but made sure that I headed off in the same direction as Blair so that it was at least interesting.
I navigated well under pressure and built a reasonable lead of around a minute in the first 30-40 minutes. Blair got back in front courtesy of a thicket infested creek crossing, however, it wasn't too concerning as I was feeling good, and there was a decisive route choice coming up.

Then as I ran to a control I noticed about 30-40 wasps around the stand. It was too late, and they were stinging me. I fled, throwing my map and hands around, but I got stung about 6 times on my head shoulders, neck and side. I lost my map and control card, but I wasn't going back to get them. Blair kindly let me run with him for the remainder of the course.
Without my map I suggested the alternative route to Blair (which he wasn't going to take), and that saved us a few mintues and a few dozen contours. I was able to run ok, but the stinging was quite painful, and still is annoying 24 hours later.
