Running hills 50:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:00 / km)

Hilly Kew run.
Not much strength but the plan is to improve this over the next few weeks.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 14.0 km (5:00 / km)

Two and half laps of the tan in reverse.
Grant Hackett was at the bottom of Anderson Street doing his Sport Report for Channel 9 and checking out the girls walking by.

Running intervals 26:00 [4] 4.0 km (6:30 / km)

8 x 500m, 1 every 3:15
My first speed session of the year.
It started well, with no sign of the niggling groing from yesterday.
Terrible conditions, around 34 degrees and windy.
The first 5 were great, around 1:30-1:35.
The last 3 deteriorated (due to the conditions and my condition) to around 1:40-1:45.
Happy to get through it, and stuffed at the end.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Note

Another chest x-ray this afternoon, hopefully confirming that I have recovered from pneumonia. I'll check with the doctor tomorrow.

On the way to the radiologist, I travelled in a Schindler's Lift. I guess it is better than being on Shinder's List!

I also saw a fire engine waiting idle in the middle of a city street while the lights were green. Then as soon as they turned red, he put his siren and lights on so that he could hoon through the red light at full speed. Then another block down the road he stopped!

Running long 1:18:00 [2] 15.5 km (5:02 / km)

Mike's Meander in reverse. This was a bit controversial as it has been run forwards about 50 times, but never in this direction. The group had to call on my navigational skills a few times as they couldn't get their head around running in the opposite direction.
I have another niggling injury, this time in my left groin. It felt about 6/10 when I started, but seemed to get better the faster I ran. I'll just need to watch this.

I found a $10 note floating down the road on the Exibition St bridge. Must be my lucky day.

Note

Too hot to run at lunchtime. I thought about a run in the evening, but after having a bbq it was not possible.

Enjoyed watching the Tour Down Under highlights on TV today. I was very familiar with many of the roads through the Adelaide Hills as I they were on the way to many orienteering maps. The stage started near my old SANFL footy club (Norwood) and finished at my Uni campus (UniSA - Mawson Lakes, formerly know as "The Levels"). The stage also used Elder Smith Drive which crosses the site of my dad's old cricket ground where I spent many days of summer as a kid, watching, scoring, curating, and practising with Dad.

Running 40:00 [3] 8.1 km (4:56 / km)

MFR run from Blair's house.
Usually this is an easy run, but with 37 degrees and Hanny joining us it was much harder work than a usual Monday run.

Running long 1:30:00 [2] 17.1 km (5:16 / km)

First attempt at a longer run for a while. I joined Blair and Liggo around Yarra Bend and the run felt really good. I had planned on about 60 minutes, but as I was feeling great I had no trouble extending it on to 90 minutes.
