Orienteering 1:30:00 [2] 10.0 km (9:00 / km)

Placing orienteering controls for the 2 Southern Cross sprint races at Darebin Parklands and Eaglemont Flats.

The races themselves were great fun, and I think that they proved to be great training areas for the national team members that attended.
The attendance from Victorians were below expectations though.

Orienteering 18:00 [4] **** 4.35 km (4:08 / km)
spiked:17/18c

Sprint orienteering training with Simon Uppill at Melbourne Uni. Simon arrived early today and is leaving on Sunday afternoon, so we did Monday morning's session.
The run started well, but I lost some speed on Simon in second half due to being unfit. My lungs were suffering a bit, but my legs and groin held up ok.
The course was fun with plenty of decision making on every leg.
Of the 18 construction areas that I mapped on Wednesday, probably 2 or 3 have changed already! They were close enough though.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

Running 40:00 [3] 7.6 km (5:16 / km)

3/4 lap of the tan. Continuing to build it up gradually.
Added a little bit more intensity today. My body held up ok again. I actually started to notice my aerobic fitness was a little worse than my muscular fitness for the first time in weeks.

Running 40:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:20 / km)

A run around Melbourne Uni to check a course for Julian and Shannon for next week.
I knew that there would be some map corrections, but I didn't expect to find 18 construction sites! I changed a couple of legs, but otherwise my challenging course remained in tact.
The run itself felt ok, but I had plenty of stops to check the map.

Running 20:02 [2] 4.0 km (5:01 / km)

As instructed, just the 20 minute jog today around Fitzroy Gardens.
I can't say it was a particularly fantastic run, but I got through it without pain, which was the main objective.

Still, it is how I pull up over the next 24 hours that will determine how successul this comeback is.

Note

Some further massage treatment this morning.
The good news is that my pubic symphysis is still aligned, so the pains of the past 2 weeks are just muscular.
The treatment was supposed to go to the next level to release those muscles. I definately feel much better afterwards - although not during the treatment!
I've go the go ahead for a 20 minute run tomorrow if I am feeling ok.

Dreamteam went well this weekend. Even though Cox scored a donut, I still topped 2000 points and lead my league by a game and percentage, still with 8 trades left and $100K in the bank.

My Supercoach team won too, but is suffering with injuries. Pavlich and Warren went down to deplete my forward line. Ablett's 408 points as captain certainly helped!

Cycling (Mountain Bike) 2:34:00 [2] 22.0 km (8.6 kph)

Rode from home to Eaglemont Flats for course setting/control site checking. It was cold and foggy on the outward journey. Despite wearing gloves, my fingers nearly froze off. Upon reaching the map, I found dozens of new mtb single tracks, and some old ones now gone. I tried to map all of these by riding over them with my gps watch recording the locations. I'll upload them into OCAD and see if I can make sense of them all (and test my memory).
The large uncrossable marsh is now crossable, but still has a few stinging nettles in it. I recommend full body cover for runners next weekend.

I found some extreme trail bike jumps hidden in the forest. I tried to figure out how they are actually ride-able, and where they would land on some of the jumps!
