Running 42:00 [2] 8.0 km (5:15 / km)

Easy run across the river to Bellbird Dell. I found Kerrin and ran together with him for 15 minutes.

Friday Jul 17, 2009 #

Note

Planned rest day.

Thursday Jul 16, 2009 #

Running intervals 50:00 [4] 10.0 km (5:00 / km)

8 x 500m at the tan
Started really well in the low 1:30s for the first 4.
Then the 80 second recoveries started to take their toll. I suffered a bit on the last 4 in the high 1:30s. I'll have to work hard like this for a few more weeks to get back to where I want to be.

Wednesday Jul 15, 2009 #

Running long 1:19:30 [2] 15.7 km (5:04 / km)

Extended River Run
Up as far as Glenferrie Rd on the Gardiners Creek path.
Easy pace on the way out (avg 5:03)
Picked it up a little on the way back, but still under control (avg 4:35).

Tuesday Jul 14, 2009 #

Running intervals 13:10 [4] 3.83 km (3:26 / km)

Tan Track in 3 parts, race pace.
5:05 to the top corner
4:50 to Gov House Drv
3:20 to finish
It was hard work at that pace, not having done much high intensity work lately. Still I haven't lost too much pace, so hopefully I can regain it in a few weeks.

The Midday Milers had a special Adidas day, with Clint Perret coming to talk to the club about his quest to run at the World Champs this year. He ran 64 minutes for a half marathon in Christchurch recently, and hopes to improve on that. His tan pb is about 10:50!

Running warm up/down 24:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:00 / km)

Monday Jul 13, 2009 #

Running 1:00:00 [2] 11.6 km (5:10 / km)

Fawkner Park in reverse, with a warm down to the Anderson St bridge.

Sunday Jul 12, 2009 #

Running long 1:05:49 [3] 12.63 km (5:13 / km)

Another later than usual start after another night of Tour and Cricket watching. I took a northern route through the park along the Merri Creek and Yarra bike trails to the footbridge near Ikea. Then I through in a few hills for good measure coming back through Kew.

It was not very long for a Sunday run, but at this stage I am still trying to string a few weeks together without breaking down.

Note

I stayed up late to watch Mark Webber's win in Germany. Good on him! Maybe now he will get some credit in Australia.

I went to bed at around midnight when England were ~7/150, thinking that we would get through the tail, but it wasn't to be. Unfortunate how we could dominate the match but not get the win.

A few big wins in the footy this weekend.
