Orienteering race 1:40:00 [5] 14.0 km (7:09 / km)

Australian Championships - Long Distance
Warby Range
14th place out of about 45 runners. Strong field.

A wobbly start on 1, but pretty good navigation there-after.
I got a bit of a ride with Shep for about 5 controls mid course, but I couldn't hang on over a long leg.
I spent a fair bit of time with David Brownridge, but couldn't shake him - an indication that I didn't have a lot of forest speed over the long distance course.

A good course with some great route choices.

Orienteering race 15:00 [5] 3.5 km (4:17 / km)

Australian Championships - Sprint Distance
Benalla
10th place in a very strong field. Not bad.

Good run, but very little navigation required.
It was mostly follow the elephant tracks in the long grass, and run as hard as you can.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

Running 45:00 [2] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

Half of Mike's Meander
Easy jog with the MMM group, turning back at St Kilda Rd to keep it relatively short this week.

Running intervals 30:00 [4] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

4 x 800m untimed intervals
Good to feel comfortable again striding out, which means that my groin is ok again. The Yarra River was flowing well over Dight's Falls this morning.

Running 55:00 [2] 11.0 km (5:00 / km)

Fawkner Park (in reverse) recovery run
Groin was still sore this morning, but has improved quite a bit during and after the run.

Orienteering race 1:50:39 [4] *** 16.77 km (6:36 / km) +759m 5:23 / km
spiked:20/20c

Victorian Championships - Long Distance
Chokem Gully

I felt some groin soreness in bed at 2am, and I knew it was going to be a long day. It was always possible that I would be sore after a tough run, as I had experienced this groin/hip soreness several times over the last 12 months.

I was a bit restricted going up or down hills or over stony ground, which was about 90% of the course. As a result my main objective was just to finish.

19th place, about 20 minutes behind. It was a tough day for me and not particularly enjoyable.

I will try to have an easy week with lots of stretching and aim to be back to 100% for an attack on the sprint on Friday.
