Note
(rest day)

A few quiet days for training. Anne has headed to Perth for 4 days, and I have full time child minding responsibilities until Monday night.

Orienteering tempo 37:00 [4] * 8.54 km (4:20 / km)

Street Orienteering at Bulleen.
First street race of the season. I think Matt, Bryan and Andrew seemed a bit disappointed when I turned up. They all followed me out of the start, and Matt challenged for a couple of flat kms, but then I was on my own as I got into the hills.
My running speed was reasonable given the conditions, but I would want to go a bit faster on flat course.
I ended up winning by about 300m. I think my route was also the shortest of anyone who was back on course A when I left.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:37 / km)

Too late for Mike's Meander, so I ran it in reverse and caught the group coming back at the end of St Kilda Rd.
A bit faster than normal for a long run, moving along at about 4:30 pace.
Quite warm too.

Note

Interesting to see that Lexus have pulled out of their sponsorship of the Collingwood FC training complex. Some possible suggestions for a new name:
Collingwood Remand Centre
Four 'n Twenty Pies

Running 42:00 [2] 8.0 km (5:15 / km)

Single lap of the tan.
My legs felt very tired today, so I wasn't up to anything fast. At least my hamstring didn't give me any troubles today.

Running hills 56:00 [3] 11.2 km (5:00 / km)

Hill strengthener.
4 Airlie St hills, lap of the tan, then 2 Killer Loops.
Right hamstring was a bit tight today. I may need to miss the speed session on the track tomorrow as a precaution.

Running 42:00 [2] 8.5 km (4:56 / km)

MFR run from the Key residence with Tash, Nicola, Dion, Max, James, Reuben, Vanessa and Blair on the bike. We covered some of my old training ground from 1996 up the Freeway near Hays Paddock. It's still pretty much the same as it was 13 years ago.
