OA Conference Orienteering Race - ANU
Long course - straight line about 5km.
I took a little while to get into the map, as it was not ISSOM, and there were many construction sites that were hand drawn on the map. My first problem was approaching #3. The passable wall on the map was in fact an impassable wall. Then I lost a bit of motivation.
I tried to keep running hard, but several times I was frustrated by mapped impassable areas that were passable, and vice versa.

A reasonable run, about a minute ahead of Eric who finished in second place.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

Running 1:02:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:46 / km)

2.5 laps of the tan.

I'm off to Canberra for the OA Conference this evening.

Running 45:00 [2] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

Merri Creek to Studley Park Rd, and back through Yarra Bend Park. A lovely morning, but my legs were not awake. I tried a couple of surges, but they were hard work.

My brother in law, Karl, stayed last night on his way from San Francisco to Perth. He showed no signs of wanting to join me for a run.

I suggest that Tiger Woods should now be known as Cheetah Woods.

Running long 1:05:00 [3] 14.5 km (4:29 / km)

Mike's Meander
Missed the start by 8 or 9 minutes, so I had to try to catch the group. I took a short cut along St Kilda Rd, but by the time I hit Albert Park I could see the group 800m ahead. I had to surge at about 3:40 pace for 2kms to catch them.
I then tried to relax and enjoy the sunshine at the rear of the group for a few kms.

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:00 / km)

Running 20:00 [4] 5.0 km (4:00 / km)

Descending set at Gosh's Paddock
Collingwood are away in Arizona, so someone has to make good use of their lush, green training oval. Good conditions for running, but perhaps a bit windy. Still, much better than the minus 20 that the Pies are facing in the Arizona mountains.
Left foot injury seems to have disappeared.

What a shame that Peter Costello has quite politics. The Labour party and newspaper subeditors would have had a field day if he was still the deputy leader of the Liberals to Tony Abbott.

Running 42:00 [2] 7.5 km (5:36 / km)

Slow MFR Monday run with Zoe, Amy, Tony and Nicola.

Sunday Nov 29, 2009 #

Running 52:00 [3] 10.5 km (4:57 / km)

Yarra Bend inner loop through golf course and returning along Merri Creek.

My foot was sore again upon wakening, so I delayed my run until the afternoon. It was annoying me during the day, but again it felt better on the run.
