My most relaxed day at work for a couple of weeks - I even had time to log my attackpoint.
I had early warning of a fire drill - so I got my run in at 9:45am, just before the evacuation.
The problem with this was that my breakfast hadn't settled properly and I felt uncomfortable for most of the run.
When I returned, everyone was still outside, so I had to stretch for 10 minutes until the doors opened up to the showers.

I invented a new type of orienteering race today: Handicap Street Orienteering!
This involved driving into the car park just as A course was starting. I had to find a park, run to the start, pay, find a card, map and drop off my keys; so the others had about a 2 minute head start.
I don't think I chose the best route either, going to 20 first. I then had problems finding the control near Darling Station. The description was fence end, but there were about 5 fences in the circle and I couldn't make sense of the map. All of the power walkers confused me as they were walking straight ahead without stopping missing it as well. It was obvious enough when I found it, but I'm sure it was on the outer edge of the circle.
By this time, the leaders were probably 3-4 minutes ahead.

There was one more drama - coming around a blind corner, I was collected by 2 runners side by side, and I had nowhere to go but to run into them. Luckily for me, I was able to raise my elbows just in time to avoid myself any damage. I'm glad that there is no trial by video, as I may have accumulated 110 points, but I should get off with a reprimand with an early plea.

The second half was much more straight forward, and I started to pick up many places. I think that I finished about 4th by the end, approx 1 minute behind Bryan Ackerly (who chose an identical course).

Running intervals 1:03:21 intensity: (39:21 @2) + (8:00 @4) + (16:00 @5) 11.31 km (5:36 / km) +58m 5:28 / km

4 sets of 4 x 1 minute on, 30s off
2 mins between each set.
It sounds easy enough, but the 3rd and 4th sets were tough.
Running between 320-330m each minute.
