"SEVEN players recorded personal best times today when Richmond became the latest AFL club to resume training following the Christmas-New Year break.
Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said he was delighted with the physical and mental attitude of his players to start the preparations leading to next month's NAB Cup competition.

Midfielder-forward Matt White won the time trial around the 3.8km Botanical Gardens Tan in an impressive 13min 12sec"

In other words the Tigers have no elite midfielders!!!

The first was slow at 1m40, but I seemed to get better every rep, despite the warm weather and shortish recoveries.

Street Orienteering at Kew East.
It was a novelty event, so no point scores this week. That seemed a waste, since next week is point scoring but is in Lillydale, so I am unlikely to get there.
The novelty was a Treasure Hunt style score course. 4 controls were missing from the map, and you only discovered the control location at other controls.
Orienteering should never be a treasure hunt, and this course involved a lot of luck. I lost interest half way around and then jogged for a while. From the 2nd last control I found myself 30m behind the lead, so I put in a big effort over the last km and got home in front. I was still behind entering the last control, but I left the control in front and was not challenged seriously on the run in.
