Bendigo Rocks #2
After coaching Mason around course 4, I took on course 1.
My calf was feeling ok at jogging pace, so I headed out at 3/4 pace and focus on precise navigation. It was a good course on great terrain and I really enjoyed my run.
I managed to keep going at 3/4 pace without doing any damage. I wasn't going to challenge Jim or Bryan's time, but I wasn't too far behind.
Looking at the splits, I actually had a very good start, leading the race at 8, and still within a minute of Jim at 17. Once the longer and steeper legs started in the second half I lost touch. My down and up route choice to 21 looks like it was a dud, but I don't know if this was due to being ultra careful with my calf up the hill, or just a poor route. Perhaps up the spur and around the big cliffs would have been better.
