I found some hills.

Unfortunately Trinity lost the toss and were always a little behind in the game, having to chase 218. Ended up losing to PEGS by 20 runs.

A clean run. Once I finished the common loops I was on my own. I reaslised that I was either clearly in or clearly out, so I slowed down on the run in. Then I was pleased to learn that I was in 3rd place and through to the semi finals.

I had to place top 2 to make the A final, next 2 in B final and 5th/6th made the C final.

This was my first experience of "Runner's Choice" I chose B. Perhaps it was a bit longer, but it was hard to tell. I think they were all fairly similar in the end. All of my competition were faster runners than me, so I had to rely on someone making an error. Luckily Jensen took a wrong turn, and Alistair George didn't start, so I was through to the B final.

I kept up with the pack reasonably well for the first map and was reading my map well. I started to tire and just follow on 9-10 so I missed the best route and an opportunity to make up some ground. This made no difference in the end. I think 5th was the best I could have done without others losing more time.
