A very wet and cold day today. Possibly the worst weather of winter this year.

I found a small window of no rain in the late afternoon. It was still cold and it took me a while to get up to speed. I had to stop a couple of times on the way to Chandler Highway to clear a bunch of logs that someone had placed on my running/mtb trails. It was hard going early and I was a minute slower this week in the first 2.5km.

After that I warmed up and felt a bit faster.

Took it easy today. Just a light jog, enjoying some sunshine and a break from work.
You have to make the most of your 1 hour limit away from home, as the rest of the day is inside.

It would be lovely to go outside for more breaks, but if everyone follows the rules then we will hopefully be out of this strict lock-down sooner than we otherwise might be.

Started well with a good 3km tempo. Nothing fast - just solid. Then I felt some hamstring tightness, so I just jogged the rest.

Got out in the morning to avoid the rain this afternoon.

I am building up more confidence with my hamstring to run at speed, but only for 4 reps. Last week I felt a little twinge on the last rep, so I was cautious today.


I just noted Tasmania's border restriction updates. So that means we won’t be going to:

Tasmania: Until at least December 1

Queensland: Until after Christmas

WA: Probably never again

SA: TBA
