Note
weight:70kg (rest day)

Was planning on going out a short jog today to help shake down my legs. Really not feeling up to it, ive lost 3kg since Saturday, just really tired.

Note

Overall result for the weekend was 50th out of 100. As one of the youngest in the age group and my first time running 21E I'm happy.
10 AM

Running (Warm up) 10 [4] 2.0 km (5 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Just about missed my start, had to sprint from the busses. Probably not advised. Got to the start as my name was called!!
11 AM

Orienteering race (JK Long) 2:43:28 [3] 25.0 km (6:32 / km) +700m 5:44 / km
shoes: VJ Falcon

Wow, what a run. Really never pushed particularly hard, I knew it was going to be tough for me so wanted to just conserve energy. I had hoped that I would only be 2 and a half hours but I definitely could have been 10-15 minutes quicker without mistakes. Good fun though, accept the hail storms.

Finished up 52/85, a lot of people with later starts had to retire because of bad weather though so it sounds better than it was...

Saturday Mar 26, 2016 #

Running (Warm up and down) 30:00 [1] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

11 AM

Orienteering race (JK Middle) 47:46 [4] 6.0 km (7:58 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Another really nice area. Went off pretty hard through the first few and was pretty scrappy. Lost a good few minutes through till 5 then started to settle into a rhythm. Had another few wobbles at 12, 16 and 20 so definitely could have made up plenty of time.
Urgh, Andrew Lindsay kicked my bum again. Need to put him in his place soon ;) v nervous for tomorrow.

Event: JK 2016

Running (Warm up and down) 40:00 [1] 5.0 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: Mizuno 4ic

3 PM

Orienteering race (JK Sprint) 19:56 [5] 4.2 km (4:45 / km)
shoes: Mizuno 4ic

Feeling good this morning, well rested.
Set off way too hard at the start and by half way was already paying the price. Concentration and running speed both went out the window for the second half and I lost lots of time. around 5mins down on the leaders but the real bummer was I let Andrew beat me by a minute, even though he 'missed that little alley by the stairs'... Really enjoyed the area today and looking forward to the rest of the weekend.

Running (easy run) 15:00 [1] 2.75 km (5:27 / km)
(rest day) shoes: Mizuno 4ic

Out a very gentile 15 minute run. Partially a shake down from yesterday but mainly just to stop my legs getting fatigued by sitting around all day. Just keeping everything moving for the JK tomorrow!! v nervous about Sunday...
5 PM

Note
weight:73kg (rest day)

Aims for the JK:
Fri - Don't stop running, e.g. always know what way I'm going
Sat - Know what direction I'm leaving every control before I get to them
Sun - Finish

I know these may seem quite simple but I'm really in no place right now to be setting myself any harder goals than these.

5 PM

Track (Warm up and down) 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 km (20:00 / km)

I missed doing ridiculous warm ups and drills. Felt so good to be back at the track.
6 PM

Track race (4x400m) 58 [5] 0.4 km (2:25 / km)
shoes: Adidas Arriba IV

Glasgow Taxis 4x400m.

So much fun to be back at a track race. Can't wait for the new season to get going!!
