tough week
conference for Tuesday and Wednesday then catch up today with a wasted drive to Pretoria - everybody was either on leave or sick...

exam tomorrow so maybe a quick morning run is all I will get in.
Met some good contacts though - invited to the US for end Jan beginning feb - right in the middle of the schools o league that I am supposed to be organising!!!

life is never straight forward.

tough day out at mponeng mine. went to 120 level and walked to the drilling site, v hot and uncomfortable. they packed us into the cage for the trip down...
there are worse ways to spend a day, buy there are also definitely better ways...

some ok orienteering - but some stupid mistakes
2 mins at 6, the another 30 seconds spread around.
couldnt run as fast as i had hoped, but a reasonable time in the end

caught alex quickly, but then went to 13 instead of 3, so lost touch with Alex.
would have been a very different race had I stayed with Alex, I think Mike would have been challenged...
route choice to 9 was a challenge, I went the obvious way, dropping all those that went the same way, but dylan went low and got ahead.
he was chicken down the hills though so I caught and passed him easily.

great day out - a heart rate was a bit high, not quite recovered from the bug from Wednesday...

some tummy bug has me laid low... cramps like I never had before...
hopefully gone soon... had to cut short an end of year party to go find drugs to make it feel better.

really didn't feel up to a run initially, but glad I went, ran all the way up the hill without stopping once, I think that is a first for me.

ran the course with the kids in the pram. had to stop to fix (or refix) a puncture, otherwise would have been a fair bit better. a fun day out and great weather.

started out nice and slow and then pushed the last 2 km for fun. just to get out there and run. planter facietis (SP) has flared up and is giving me grief at the moment - not sure if I should ignore it and hope it goes away or actually seek treatment...
