Hike 20:00 [1] 1.47 mi (13:36 / mi)

After about 5 hours of sleep, got up to do the days workout. Was quite sore, the initial walk helped.

Trail Run 1:00:00 [1] 5.87 mi (10:13 / mi)

First 20 min was very very painful, after 40 though, it wasn't so bad.

Hike 30:00 [1] 1.95 mi (15:23 / mi)

During the run I was getting enough pains which could indicate a pending injury that decide to switch to walking to complete the two day breakdown workout. Now its just rest and one interval workout leading up to the A-meet.

Hike 7:00 [1] 0.46 mi (15:13 / mi)

Trail Run 30:00 [1] 3.35 mi (8:57 / mi)

warmup

Trail Run 14:00 [1] 1.5 mi (9:20 / mi)

recovery

Trail Run 42:00 [3] 7.13 mi (5:53 / mi)

Cinder track workout, 7x6min at slightly less than 6 min mile pace. Paces were 5:54, 56, 57, 53, 54, 56, 51. Doing it at 11pm was an added challenge, but being at close to sea level made it quite easy on the C-V system. Quarter-mile easy job between each.

Trail Run 26:00 [1] 2.45 mi (10:37 / mi)

Glad I didn't do an 8th interval, the cool down was a struggle.

Event: Laramie Daze

Trail Run 7:00 [1] 0.61 mi (11:28 / mi)

warmup/run to start

Orienteering 40:17 [3] 3.11 mi (12:57 / mi)

Brown day 2 course at the O 'n' da Oaks from last fall. It was really hot, likely in the 90s when I started. This concerned me a bit and I start to take it easy after #5. The pants were an obvious insulator. No problems orienteering beyond never being totally sure of the exact spot of the control (for a few the grass was still matted down though, because of the bone crushing drought no grass grew in the spring). Saw a bobcat running away very very close. Still had to walk a few ups.

Orienteering 22:40 [2] 2.04 mi (11:07 / mi)

After drinking a bunch of water and dropping the pants, needed to run more, but not the day 2 orange I had planned, so why not do day 2 yellow?

Trail Run 17:00 [2] 1.67 mi (10:11 / mi)

More water, then ran another loop to get more hills, was pretty much out of the 3 liters I brought so thought that it was wise to call it a day. And my legs were shredded by this time with no pants.

Hike 30:00 [1]

Wednesday Jul 30, 2014 #

Trail Run 47:00 [1] 4.53 mi (10:23 / mi)

Extended warmup.

Trail Run 24:00 [4] 4.17 mi (5:45 / mi)

Running club. 4x6min. Progressively improved on each and the last one shows a bit of promise regarding my speed and fitness. Hopefully I didn't over tax my Achilles. It was rainy and mid 60s all day, during the intervals the rain was almost stopped, so it was perfect. Paces were 5:55, 52, 48, 33. Passed Cory on the last one after trailing him by say 10 sec on the previous three.

Road Run 30:00 [1] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Didn't sleep well so was really tired today. Also, heavy rains precluded the bike as an option. Didn't want to take today as the day off so opted for an easy run.

Cyclo-X 1:33:00 [1] 19.54 mi (4:46 / mi)

Took the trail out to J-Jones, rode a bunch there, then came back to Homestead and rode some more then, then headed back. Legs were tired.
