Observatory red course, 8.0 km straight line. I'm not going to make excuses, I navigated poorly, but I think there was some obvious reasons for my lack of concentration. The past two weeks have been very strenuous at work and I've barely taken a day off since my trip, I think I was not excited to use my brain, this was obvious right from the start. Also thinking about some of the mistakes I made when trying to pay attention, they might have been caused by the 1:15 000 scale. Lastly, Observatory is probably one of the tougher maps anywhere, lots of steep slopes with nearly no features to navigate off of. At any rate, things could have been worse, only Viking beat me, which I think was a minor victory. Still, a great course set by JP.

The Notorious KAB and I rode what is a pretty typical loop, 11th, Poudre, 35th, F, then the trail was open from the dog park to Sheeps Draw, so did that, but also worked our way over the rt 34 trail and back. HRM strap might be done.
Running club, at Heath track. 3, 5, 3, 5, 3, 5 min. It was hot. HRM was on the fritz. The workout was at my limit, paces were 5:24, 33, 30, 34, 27, 30. Not sure what this will mean for the mile next week, not sure I can break 5.
A rather uninspired ride, rode out past the old place, over to the South Platte to check on its flooding, then to down town and back. Was mentally tired from work and from not being able to use many portions of the Poudre trail on my rides.
