basic training 13:00 [1]
(rest day)

I saw Joe Duval for the first time since my forced retirement. He couldn't help but ask about my limp.

The knee's been bad this week as I've neglected both my physiotherapy and my glucosamine in the business surrounding race week. I suspect that some soreness is directly due to the racing.

Concerning my poison ivy, the open sores have just closed over but itching still disturbs my sleep.

It took me a while as I was seeking 9D9 and VTBE with neither GPSr nor map, only memory.

Canadian Orienteering Championships
Long course 7
71.8%
9/48
4/20 age group

From this event I took home the bronze medal for 45-54 male Canadians (second place runner was not Canadian). Shortly into the course I realized this one was all about running. I ran with the compass but no precise bearings. I didn't slow down to take any water because I sensed that I could get to the finish quickly...and I did. After messing up leg 9 along with many others, I ran full out for the rest of the map. No one could stick to me. Miracles happen.

See my splits for comments. My race is on RouteGadget.
