A fun day of making targets at the Academy Archery Club (man hours for their work day, coordinated by Galen as a goodwill gesture since they'll be closing their very popular range for our meet at USAFA later this year, on Galen's new map).
I had the easier of the two target-making tasks, inside the clubhouse: rolling wallpaper glue onto the cardboard backing, affixing the paper target, and then smoothing down the edges with a wallpaper tool. Repeat x ~100.
Dan (the only other RMOC volunteer) had what seemed like a less desirable job: using a box cutter to cut the cardboard sheets down to size, outside in the elements (slight chill, occasional light rain). I picture that job making my hand really sore...
The archery club guys grilled brats and gave us free sodas, chips & candy bars for lunch. Apparently elk burgers are going to be on the menu for Tuesday's work day. (As a fishetarian, I wouldn't eat the brats or elk burgers, but I appreciate the gesture.)
