LoLa Runners workout.

This was supposed to be a 5K time trial. But, given my current level of un-fitness, running the two previous days and then doing a few hours of yardwork / squatting / heavy lifting this afternoon meant I had nothing left today. I ran one mile to warm up, ran a bit of the 5K course, and then bailed and walked back to the start.

A fun day of making targets at the Academy Archery Club (man hours for their work day, coordinated by Galen as a goodwill gesture since they'll be closing their very popular range for our meet at USAFA later this year, on Galen's new map).

I had the easier of the two target-making tasks, inside the clubhouse: rolling wallpaper glue onto the cardboard backing, affixing the paper target, and then smoothing down the edges with a wallpaper tool. Repeat x ~100.

Dan (the only other RMOC volunteer) had what seemed like a less desirable job: using a box cutter to cut the cardboard sheets down to size, outside in the elements (slight chill, occasional light rain). I picture that job making my hand really sore...

The archery club guys grilled brats and gave us free sodas, chips & candy bars for lunch. Apparently elk burgers are going to be on the menu for Tuesday's work day. (As a fishetarian, I wouldn't eat the brats or elk burgers, but I appreciate the gesture.)

Sunday May 16 #

Cycling 40:55 [3] 6.47 mi (6:19 / mi) +211ft 6:08 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Safire

Short MTB ride. It started to rain right at my decision point for doing another loop -- so the obvious choice was to head home.
