The light rain was fine -- except that I didn't have a map case and my map was steadily disintegrating the whole time.

On my way to my first control (#32), I got really confused by the trails after I left the road. So I returned to the road.

From there, I was finding my controls no problem (except that I apparently forgot about #53 -- probably since I was trying not to unfold & refold my wet map too many times), until I left #46 and proceeded to get TOTALLY lost -- like standing in the same place for five minutes at a time, staring at my map and the things around me, and having absolutely no clue where I might be.

I eventually gave up and headed towards the finish and spotted a control as I was getting close -- so I got that one and two more once I knew where I was. Then it looks like I accidentally ran through the OOB area on my way to the finish. Oops. I'll blame all this on a lack of sleep. :-P

Fun overall. Pleasant frog, cricket & light rain sounds -- along with a non-stop roar from the adjacent interstate and airport.

Weekly Runners Roost Run.

I got there late (after finishing the final exam for my FINAL class!), so I missed the group. I walked up to Davidson Mesa and then walk / jogged back down.

- 5K "time trial". My legs felt sore and tired from Sunday evening's hill run, so this was pretty slow for me: 10:05, 10:10, 9:30, 1:04 = 30:49. Oof.

- Ran 1.1 to cool down.
