i went jogging with my dog at a really slow pace. it was really hot today and i was sweating like a pig when i finished.

Running race (relay leg for 4x800m) 2:02 [5] 0.8 km (2:32 / km)

I had my last highschool track race today, and we ran the 4x800m and the 4x400m. The goal was just to break our old school record in the 4x800m which was 8:34, however, we all were so pumped up that we smashed it, running 8:24! I ran the second leg and split 2:02 for the half.

We were expecting to come last in this event, judging from the fact that all the best teams from the eastern states were running with us. however, for some reason, (maybe because we it was really our last race) we all split 54 seconds for the 400m, and we won our heat by 50 meters!

I felt really crappy before practice today. I went to the track and warmed up with 400m, then i did one of the hardest workouts this month. I ran a 200m in 28sec, then rested 10 seconds and sprinted a 50m as fast as i could. Then i would wait about 90 seconds and do the same thing again. I did this four times in a row, and then i sprinted a 100m, rested 10 seconds, and sprinted 80 meters. and i was wiped at the end. i jogged down a mile and went home.

I had track practice today, so i took the rest of the team to an outdoor track and we prepared for the 4x800m race next tuesday. I warmed up with a 800m, then we ran a set of 6x200m, i averaged 31 seconds for each one (with 30 seconds rest between them) and then we rested for 5 minutes, and ran another set of 6x200m and i averaged 32 seconds a 200m. I then warmed down with a 800m.

I ran two kilometers up a trail in Baleytown, faster than race pace, first reading a map from austrailia, then reading the map where i was running, marking off in my mind features as i passed them. Then i ran three controls that were marked on the map from the 1993 world champs blue course. And then i had to head back to see my sister play in a concert. i ran the 2km back at a fast clip.

I jogged all around the Fellowship community (mainly on trails, but a little in the woods) for about 38 minutes, sprinting for 50m every 10 minutes. Then i ran 3 stair sprints, and one hill sprint. I felt really good and sweaty at the end.

I ran the half. I started out by getting sandwiched between two huge guys and getting stuck in the back, then somebody clipped me in the first hundred meters, and i lost all my momentum, but after that i managed to settle back into my pace and i crossed the 400m mark in 59 seconds, however, then i made a mistake and started my kick too early because i was still mad from the beginning of the race, so with about 300m left i drew even with the leader, and then passed him for a few steps, but rigamortis set in with 200m left and i just lost momentum and coulden't keep up with the first pack. oh well, next time.

I played really hard, and got big blisters on my feet. But now i won't feel pain when I step on rocks.

I jogged up 1 mile, then did 8x200m at 31seconds for each one, and with 30seconds rest. I then ran a 80 second quarter and ended with 4x100m sprints. I felt really bad today, tired, stuffy nose, and i coulden't get my 200m intervales down. Right nowi'm trying to run a good 800m this friday at county champs, but i need more rest.

I went running with my dog and tried reading three of the JWOC maps while moving at a good pace through the woods, and found that australia terrain is really hard to read on the go.

i went jogging with my dad around the IBM grounds, we did some hill sprints and then at the end i sprinted for about 200m. I felt good, a little sore from yesterday.
