Orienteering race 1:42:51 [5] 10.91 km (9:26 / km) +300m 8:17 / km

US Long champs. Didn't have a great start to the day. As I was walking to the start after the toilets, I dropped my compass and didn't realise. Thinking I was going to have to do an 8km course without a compass wasn't the most comforting thing before I started, anyway I found it. Walking up to the start, was up a hill, legs felt pr tired, which also wasn't great. Took control 1 way too fast....made a big mistake, had to relocate to the road. The first half of leg 2, I didn't hold my bearing, ended far to east, once I crossed the stream it was clean. Going to control 5, didn't manage to hold my bearing after the stream, ended up seeing my control 13, I then followed the edge of the hill to 5, wasn't the plan, but worked out pr well. On the way to 8, I was reading ahead while running along the path, tripped on a root or rock and face planted, my right shin just below my knee, hit a rock or root first, taking all the impact. I then walked to 8 as it was pr sore, small navigation error here, had gone about 15m too far west, but I was a little bit distracted by my leg. Had a clean run from then to the finish. I also hesitated on a couple of controls.

Orienteering race 22:20 [5] 4.54 km (4:55 / km)

US Champs Sprint. I wasn't too sure how I was going to go, legs felt pr tired in the warm up. The start of the map was relatively straightforward and I went out fast, a bit too fast as a km in I was ready to slow down. Kept the pace though and was smooth until control 11, where I lost focus and hesitated. I exited the control what I bought would be faster than planned, and took a right as I should've if I had exited the planned way. It was then smooth race to the finish. Definitely need to work on fitness!

Running 40:00 [4]

Not too sure on time or distance as I left my watch at home -.- Plan was to do hills, did 3 x set of stairs, then my achilles started to get a bit sore, so I went to the track and tried running in bare feet, it helped, I ended up doing 5 x 400m, don't have times as i didn't have a watch. Warm down run back home. Wasn't feeling too great today, legs didn't feel strong, and I had drunk too much water beforehand
