Note

On a side note... After telling the coaches "I'm terrible at basketball, I got cut from the B team in Houston." Kendal made the 8th Grade Team. The coach did say "don't worry this is Telluride, try out!"
Kendal hasn't taken the kit off since finding out. I love this. I can't smile wide enough. There's a lot to be said for failure and being cut. Makes success at any level sweeter.
1 PM

Nordic (skate) 1:27:01 [3] 13.09 km (6:39 / km) +271m 6:01 / km
ahr:113 max:151

Took this very, very easy which for the effort still isn't easy. Always prided myself for having jelly boobs, but I may start having to ditch this sport. Maybe it's just the chilly temps in CO, but everything on the upper body looks perter.

Alpine Skiing 2:30:00 [3]

Beer has a very bad reputation as a medicinal remedy. I swear by the stuff. Woke up feeling great, no sign of a sore throat or virus.
Girls had Ski PE so after I'd dropped them and did some house chores I hit the bumps hard. Saw our first coyote of the year in the Valley Floor on the school run.

Running 37:13 [3] 8.05 km (4:37 / km) +44m 4:30 / km
ahr:140 max:153

HR is total mince. One mile Easy, 2 miles Steady, 2 miles Hard. How my HR wasn't in the 170's by the end I've no idea. I was trashed. Wanted to skate, but wasn't able to.
Finished the trim and lights in the house. Thought I was going down with something, but a couple of beers has perked me up. Let's see what the morning has in store.

Alpine Skiing 1:45:00 [3]

Went for it. Absolutely knackered by the end. Every run was moguls. Felt pretty happy about the morning. Bitterly cold though.
1 PM

Nordic (skate) 58:26 [3] 9.93 km (5:53 / km) +39m 5:46 / km
ahr:113 max:151

Spent 15 mins feet only, on Tom's recommendation. I can see how this helps enormously. I was exhausted after being on the mountain. Snow was great. Even the shade wasn't too sticky.

Running 13:18 [3] 2.14 km (6:13 / km) +21m 5:56 / km
ahr:152 max:169

Legs dead...IT band killing on the left. Bailed immediately. Wanted to go four miles.

Alpine Skiing 2:30:00 [3]

Lovely family day. Both girls comfortably did Lower Plunge and Kendal's starting to hunt for mogul fields.
4 PM

Running 1:03:33 [3] 12.08 km (5:16 / km) +105m 5:03 / km
ahr:166 max:179

Easy from the gym to Town and back. Calves and hammys sore now.

Alpine Skiing 3:00:00 [3]

All afternoon with the bairns on Mt. Village side. Perfect conditions and weather. Tomorrows plan is 3 hours plus on lift nine. Both kids are ready for the big Lower Plunge!
The day was made with Rochdale v Mags ending 1-1
Means I'll probably get to see them on US tele live mid week. First time in 127 years they've played competitively against each other. Place of birth v Team I've loved since '76. Disappointed I could only listen on the radio. Although, I'm very partial to radio commentary.

Alpine Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Lift 10 in to Prospect. Woozleys Way, Polar Queen and Coonskin. Eadie is getting much better. Kendal is getting stylish, but less adventurous.
Conditions here are great. Going to be a very warm weekend. Monday's plan is to do a hatrick of exercise.....with no bairns.
3 PM

Nordic (skate) 29:44 [3] 5.61 km (5:18 / km) +45m 5:05 / km
ahr:114 max:155

Quick skate on the Valley Floor while Eadie did gym. Conditions were amazing in sun and shade. I'm feeling pretty unfit at the moment. Hopefully I can get a job here that lets me get a run in before the bairns get out of school. Monday it's on.
