First time orienteering since Georgia. Happy to say that my map reading and navigation was solid. I need to work on better routes, but I was being cautious today for two reasons... 1. It had been so long since I read a map. 2. Wasn’t sure how recovered I was from the Ultra. I realized about 40 min in that my legs were still pretty tired, had no real speed at all and HR kept going higher than it should have so I walked a lot. And when you take safer routes (ie trails), adding distance and going slower makes for a slow finish. But, never lost and never really made a mistake. So that’s a win!

Yellow course with my cousin’s kids, they did great!
