Great to run on this map again, the place where I became instantly hooked to the sport last year at my first meet and took a first cautious, nerve wracking step off the trail into the bush, after standing on the trail at least 5 minutes staring at my compass trying to figure out a bearing after having read a how-to online the day before. Heh. And back when running 100m without being massively out of breath was way beyond my fitness level.

But anyway, on to today's outing.

I have a bad habit of just going-going-going too quickly for my (lack of) skill level and making many avoidable mistakes, so today my goal was to be aware of opportunities for moving more quickly while rough orienteering and along handrails, and to force myself to slow down where I needed to be more precise. ("precise" being a relative term in my case!) Overall went well, but should have been a tad more slow and precise for #7 -- went right by it and ate up a ton of time looping back around. Overall felt good though!
