Physio today.

Katherine thinks I'm doing pretty well, but there are some real issues in hamstring and adductors that need working out - very very tight.

So she worked them loose. Ouch. Also some massaging of the front of hip where it's tight after the op. That was good.

So lots of different stretches to do. Dropping most of the book now. Need to work on adductors, abductors, glutes, stretching stuff that was bruised in op. Walking and moving in swimming pool good.

Very useful to talk through where I am at with Katherine.

OK - clicking in hip, acheyness in front and muscles.
Not OK - loud pops or cracks from hip. Deep acheyness inside groin area - that's where problems show.

Feeling pretty good at teh moment. Going up stairs fine. Going down slower. Walking ok, but can't stride out. A bit more normal now. Katherine says just due to tightness in soft tissues around hip from op. Will recede as I use stuff.

Managed 25 mins on bike this evening. But most of time was packing kit for Scotland and re-arranging furniture in living room. I was being careful though.

What is going on this week. Not particularly early back from work in York. Watered the garden and pottered round doing some odd jobs, a little work for rpa ,then some dinner, then it was time to meet dave and kelly in the pub for a quick drink and exchange of kit ( he borrowing multisport helmet, me borriwng flats for the bike)

Keep running out of time.

Matt away on holiday, Ellie at sleepover. So Karen came into Leeds to meet me from work and we went and drank beer / ate tapas / drank wine.
This seems to be a habit... :)

Fun. But no exercises in the evening.
However, I had done 25 minson bike and some of the isometrics and stretches in the morning before going to work .

Achey again this morning.
Walking ok, just slow. Trying not to limp .

Failed to do exercises again as went to pub with jason. Oops.

Day 43

Woke up this morning aching all over. I presume back and arms from hedge trimming, but legs screaming - muscles that haven't been used I guess.

Swimming this morning. Walked in the pool and did some of exercises I could remember from the hydrotherapy sheet. All fine.

Having to avoid over extension - still getting pinching in groin on right hand side if I cross legs. Not good.

Left hip really aching today as well.

Day 42.
Day 1 of no crutches.

Woo hoo. I can carry things!

Might have overdone it today. Down to town and back twice, cut the hedge (not the top, just the front). Did some gardening. Cut lawn with big new mower that got 5 weeks ago and haven't been able to try.

Did 45 mins on bike and most of exercises. Can't do any that involve crossing right over left to any degree - pinching in inner thigh.
Anyway, great to be able to walk, but my right leg has forggotten how to do it - muscles not firing in right order or correctly.

It's only been 6 weeks! But getting there - just being careful about striding and impact.

Day 41.

Last day on crutches. I guess you could argue that I should be on them tomorrow, but it's saturday, and I've a lot of catching up on jobs to do.

Didn't manage any exercises today as went to the pub for a cheeky pint after got back to ilkley.

Banging headache in the evening again. Been on and off all week.

Day 40.

Tomorrow is last day on crutches. Can't wait.
In York today, so long day. But a good one. Snooze on the train in the morning.

Managed most of exercises in the evening. Still having trouble with pinching/soreness in inner thigh. A bit worrying that. And still got a little tenderness in the upper quad.

Hip is a little achey in general tonight - perhaps will go back to lighter theraband.
