Run warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: October 2010 Oroc 280

Warmup before the middle. A cool, clear day.

Orienteering race 35:52 [4] *** 5.4 km (6:39 / km)
shoes: October 2010 Oroc 280

SLOC Middle Blue.

Very good race. Lost 1 minute on 5, and maybe 25 on 10. Perhaps I had another 30 seconds of inefficiencies, but a lot of legs were perfect.

In the running, I had some flashbacks to the way I used to feel running. Which was good, although probably due to a chemical imbalance in the brain (like deja vu.)

Orienteering 15:35 [2] **

Note

At Logan, enjoying my last set of oysters this weekend (3 x 6, starting Friday.) And a large Sam Adams, and reflecting on the weekend.

A great one. Very content right now.

Had some OK orienteering, some good orienteering, and some disappointing orienteering. But, it was really great to hang out with all my orienteering friends. And Ian.

My work situation has not allowed me to train enough to be competitive, but I have trained enough to not embarrass myself. I would like to train more, but unfortunately, cannot count on that.

In any case, this weekend was great. Next weekend CSU will be my enemy, but this weekend, and at all other times, they are my friends. They did a great job. Every minute of orienteering was so fun, so satisfying. And the environment/feel was great.

Thanks!

Orienteering race 1:34:37 [4] **** 12.25 km (7:43 / km)
shoes: October 2010 Oroc 280

US Long Championships.

It felt like a good race, but I got tired. The tiredness had more of an impact on my orienteering than my running. While it slowed as well, the most pronounced effect was that the orienteering felt much harder to me in the second half, and I was full of hesitations and small errors.
