Sweet.
This was CSU Thursday training. This was an exhilarating outing. Basically, just run and orienteer. I guess a bit like ski-O. Maybe I would like that, if I could only ski.
I was pretty clean but I managed to misread the map and go from 10 to 14, thinking the "4" was a "1". It didn't affect the outing much. I also missed a road junction, which was apparently a glorified trail.
It got dark by the end, so I was very glad I had my headlamp.
I have to give mad props to CSU. In less than a week, I've done two of the most fun orienteering related things I've done in many months. Thanks CSU!
I was thinking about CSU and DVOA. I think (and this analogy may be limited to the context of US orienteering) that CSU is like a jam band and DVOA is kind of like the Rolling Stones. They both may make great music, but the jam band is going to be more chill whereas the Stones may have higher production values in the shows but may annoy you sometimes. But, if you want arena rock, they are the only game in town.
That said, it is nice to be chill sometimes.
