Note

rest day, did go get hair cut (no highlights and lowlights as booking was messed up, but hey, as I said to Mon, "this wedding isnt about MY hair, its about Meg's hair". Just as long as my hair is tidy) then dmsum, then rest of day in pajamas lounging & dozing, should work well for me to rebuild my strength.
Nice classic lowfat vegan O-food; tomato-corn soup, w/ the antipasto/pickled vegie heaped on nice crackers & toasted organic WW baguette.

walking 55:00 [1] 2.8 km (19:39 / km)

getting tired, gotta slow on the walking, but today was not it, nice day so we went to the park, but then the leash fell apart & we had to patiently backtrack to find the missing piece, so that pumped up the meters more than i wanted. But it was beutiful fall day! Did the evening walk as well, we saw a coyote calmly watching G - don't know if it wanted to eat her or kidnap her & intoduce her to the Ways of The Wild. Their body shapes are quite similar, altho color is different. I hissed at it & told it there was no way it was gonna eat my dog, but it didnt really care all that much, so it was a kinda mellow standoff for a while. Eventually it went away.
coconut milk seafood curry for dinner thickened w/ red lentils & besan, & spiced roasted acorn squash. Kinda O-food.

walking 43:00 [1] 2.2 km (19:33 / km)

down the top bit of stairmaster, over to the park via the parkway, around the park, past the school, & home between the daycares. Misty, cool, refreshing, no dogs to be seen, & worse, no grasshoppers to be massacred in the grasses - G-dog listened & listened & couldn't find even one!
But we had "mom-style" spaghetti sauce, broccoli w/ oyster sauce, & tiny champagne grapes, haha!
Afterwards I made up what we in Vancouver call "antipasto", a sweet/savoury mix of minced veg which is delicious on crackers or crostini. For friends, & for the trip next week...

Note

back to bistro menu. Starting to get excited about California road-trip.

walking 1:10:00 [1] 3.6 km (19:27 / km)

up at Highgate, then a meander around the lower creek area in the afternoon (met Wilbur, Cassie, Sophie, & Whistler, so it was a FUN day), & then part of evening walk as well, to check out new development signs.

Note

owies further reduced altho decided to brace up R wrist for a day or so. Considered bistro menu (croques monsieurs, moules gratinees, beans & carrots in matchsticks) but suddenly decided to do a bouillabaisse, nice sparkly tomato base, & toss in salmon chunks scallops shrimp beans & zucchini at the last minute so the flavours are all fresh and bright. Yum. maybe some big garlicky croutons?
Off in the mist to walk the dog.

walking 33:00 [1] 1.7 km (19:25 / km)

down to the parkway on the east side & then along it to stairmaster, thru woods to the creek bikepath & back up to around Villa Jardin, about 40 minutes. got wise & chomped a tylenol first, felt great after first few cold-ish minutes. lotsa plant baths this afternoon wow the ylangylang went nuts and grew six feet of vine into the blinds so extracted that, basically blew apart the apt tidying...tomorrow it'll look better, heheheh. rosemary-orange zest dressing for the last beautiful summer tomato...

walking 55:00 [1] 2.7 km (20:22 / km)

Granville Island in the morning to drink lattes & meander from beadshop to paper-Ya to the Kitchen Shop to buy pasta roller, ravioli form, & new salad spinner, I'm just about beside myself, I am gonna start w/ fazzolette di seta (pasta shaped like business cards) w/ a bolognese sauce!!!
walk to the park as usual but sat & watched the sky by the bike adventure park today. Gradually losing big ol' pains from over-exertions, last night I thought it really sucked, but you gotta pay the price for what you buy...

Note

did about 10 km of backroads up past Sechelt towards Mt. Richardson based on a line about 2 cm long in one of the tourist brochures - took about an hour to go 10 km...pretty bouncey roads (not quite decommissioned ;-), but so quiet, & sunny by the little lake we stopped at for lunch. Not quite pristine, a bit of beer-can-fire-ring action, but that's the back-country for ya...
